Her practice focuses on researching scientific systems and creating designs which metamorphose the body with the natural world through textures, silhouettes, and colors. Maicah centralizes sustainability in their designs by using natural fiber textiles and natural dyeing techniques, ensuring all transformations of the fabric’s body are done using natural ingredients that can be cycled back to the Earth. With their work, Maicah aims to call attention to how our daily existence is heavily interwoven and impacts the world around us.
