She is the founder of Loopera\, a fashion tech platform for digital product passports\, and creator of a patent pending NFC Rivot. Her leadership connects fashion\, technology\, and economic development to build a more circular and sustainable future for the industry. \n\n\n\nMacaila Britton is a storyteller and Environmental Advocate. She founded Sustainable Fashion Week Chicago as a way to bring more sustainable fashion opportunities to the Windy City\, while bringing communities together to champion change. Previously\, she was the Communications Director for His Majesty King Charles III’s Sustainable Markets Initiative. She has completed programs with The University of Cambridge’s Institute For Sustainable Leadership and is ALBERT Trained for sustainable productions. When she’s not running Sustainable Fashion Week Chicago\, you can find her hosting a lifestyle activism radio show\, blending her passion for people\, stewarding the earth\, and her love for storytelling. \n\n\n\nJacob Moeller is a co-organizer of Chicago Climate Week 2026\, and consults for the Center for Transportation and the Environment (CTE). Earlier in his career\, he advised corporate clients on investor relations — specifically in capital markets\, corporate strategy\, and stakeholder management. A deft storyteller with a knack for developing partnerships\, he’s now applying those skills to the climate space throughout Chicago. Jacob is dedicated to advancing clean transportation and engaging communities to build resilient\, collaborative solutions for a changing climate. \n\n\n\nModerated by Iisha Scott  \n\n\n\nIisha Scott is an award-winning\, Certified Broadcast Meteorologist at NBC Chicago. Her career has taken her across the country\, from the Southeast to the Mid-Atlantic\, and now to the Midwest. Throughout her career\, she’s covered everything from hurricanes and tornadoes to blizzards.Iisha is a proud graduate of Norfolk State University and Mississippi State University\, where she studied mass communications\, geosciences\, and broadcast meteorology. Attendees of all backgrounds are welcome\, no STEM specialization required. \n\n\n\nThe virtual event includes a moderated discussion followed by audience question and answer section. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Professor Chazot \n\n\n\nCécile A. C. Chazot is the Julia Weertman Assistant Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at Northwestern University\, where she leads the Sustainable Polymer Innovation Laboratory (SPIn Lab). Since joining Northwestern in January 2023\, her research has focused on developing scalable and environmentally responsible polymer processes for textile manufacturing and recycling. \n\n\n\nHer lab combines fundamental biopolymer design with advanced materials processing to uncover and control structure–property–processing relationships in natural polymers\, with applications in stimuli-responsive fibers\, films\, and circular textile systems. Cécile earned her Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from MIT in 2022\, under the supervision of Prof. A. John Hart\, and holds an M.Sc. in Materials Science and Engineering from Mines ParisTech in France. She is also a co-founder of the Materials Initiative for Comprehensive Research Opportunity (MICRO)\, a remote research program designed to expand access to materials science research for undergraduates across the U.S. Her work at the intersection of biopolymer innovation and fiber-based materials has earned her several recognitions\, including Early Career Awards from the Army Research Laboratory and the Department of Energy\, designation as an ACS Materials Au Rising Star in Materials Science\, and selection as an RSC Applied Polymers Emerging Investigator\, all in 2025. \n\n\n\nRSVP

DESCRIPTION:RSVP\n\n\n\n​About The Event: \n\n\n\nOctober’s dinner will focus on community building and preparing for the upcoming holiday season as business owners. Specifically on how Sustainable Fashion Supper Club Members can leverage resources\, skills\, and the community to reach their end-of-year business goals. \n\n\n\n​There is a one-time $20 tax-deductible and non-refundable cost to reserve your spot. Attendees will be responsible for the cost of their personal order (drinks\, appetizer\, entrees\, etc.). \n\n\n\n​Once registered\, you will be emailed a payment link. Register\, here! \n\n\n\n​​The Event Includes:\n\n\n\n\n​Follow-Up Virtual Event. ​As a Sustainable Fashion Supper Club member\, you will have access to the free virtual follow-up event that will provide resources specific to what members discussed during supper club.\n\n\n\nStructured introductions where attendees can share a short (1-2 minute) introduction about themselves\, their business\, or professional and environmental goals.\n\n\n\n​​Facilitated discussion with prepared talking points on key industry topics and their local impact and relevance.  \n\n\n\n​​Conversation prompts printed on placards for dinner guests to connect with other attendees.\n\n\n\n​Guest Speaker. We will welcome a special guest (to-be-announced via email. Stay tuned!) who will share how to navigate business and sustainability in Chicago.\n\n\n\n​​Next steps with bite-sized immediate actions attendees can take to create and contribute to the fashion industry they want\, locally. \n\n\n\n​Directory. ​Attendees will receive a curated list of everyone who attended\, along with their links (opt-in basis).
